Glazed tuna steak with oriental vegetables
Preparation and Cooking Time – 12 minutes
4 fresh tuna steaks
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic – crushed
1 teaspoon shredded ginger
1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
Juice and zest of 1 lime
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
Stir fry vegetables of choice – i.e. peppers, Bok choi, baby corn, mange tout etc
1. Combine ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and mix together. Add tuna steaks and coat well. Allow 10 – 15 minutes for marinating.
2. Heat a grill or frying pan until hot and add the tuna steak. Cook as desired.
3. While the fish is cooking, quickly stir-fry the vegetables. Just before the fish is ready to serve, add any remaining marinade and spoon over the fish.
4. Place the vegetables on the plate and lay fish on top, and drizzle with any remaining sauce.
The tuna steaks can also be cut into cubes and placed on skewers to make delicious barbecue treats or canapés.

Well done – 8 minutes
Medium to well done – 6 minutes
Medium – 5 minutes
Medium to rare – 3 – 4 minutes
Rare – 2 minutes
