Beer Battered Cod

Beer Battered Cod, Brought to you by Quinlans Fish

 

Cod is always the family favourite but if you want to give it the chip shop taste you can make a quick batter by mixing;

Ingredients

What you’ll need

  • 1 can of cold beer – 375ml (some people like to replace 1/2 beer and 1/2 sparkling water)
  • 200g plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup of extra plain flour for dusting

For Batter:

Place flour in a bowl, add the cold beer, a pinch of salt and whisk until combined.

For Dusting:

In a shallow bowl,  place 1 cup of plain flour and a pinch of salt.

Method

  1. Dip your fillets into the flour, and then into your batter. Allow excess to drain off.
  2. Lay the fillets gently into your hot oil and cook until golden.
