Sardines (Sardina pilchardus) are blue fish that live in coastal salt waters.  These sardines come from the Atlantic Ocean and were fished along the coastlines of Galicia and Portugal. Tinned in oil, both olive and sunflower, in tomato sauce, in spicy sauce and in lemon sauce.

Canned sardines and sardinella possess all of the health benefits of blue fish, and eating them with their bones provides a concentrated source of calcium and selenium.
